I created an illustration using Adobe Illustrator for this project to communicate an important message from an editorial article.
The focus was Florida’s old legislation that denied the majority of ex-felons voting rights. The unzipping of the prisoner’s jumpsuit to reveal a professional suit represents an ex-felon who has completed their sentence and successfully re-integrated with society. I traced the classic “I voted” sticker, changing the words to represent the issue at hand. You might expect this professional-looking person to have voted, but instead he is prevented from doing so by the state’s law.
